Burak Algül

Secretary General

Burak Algül was born in Nicosia in 2002. He graduated from the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU). Throughout his academic studies, he worked on unmanned aerial vehicles, aircraft design, sustainability, and energy systems. Algül has been involved in table tennis since 2011 and has served as captain of national youth teams. Alongside his sporting activities, he has played an active role in civil society and organizational initiatives. He contributed to his team's success in achieving a ranking position at the TEKNOFEST Helicopter Design Competition held in Türkiye. He was also responsible for content planning, social media posts, and coordinating filming activities for the media project “Cyprus Awaits You,” which aimed to promote Cyprus. Since the establishment of the Liberal Democracy Movement (LDM), Algül has served as its Secretary-General, working on the movement's organizational structure, the overall coordination of its activities, and its institutional development. His areas of interest include technology, digitalization, individual freedoms, sustainability, and social development.

Born on 20 July 2000, they graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Eastern Mediterranean University. To further develop their professional knowledge and expertise, they subsequently enrolled in the PhD Programme in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Cyprus International University, where they are currently continuing their studies. They began their professional career in Türkiye, working as an assistant pharmacist at a pharmacy for two years. During this period, they expanded their knowledge and practical experience in the field of pharmacy, strengthening their professional expertise. They are currently undertaking the preparations and establishment procedures necessary to open their own pharmacy in the Karaoğlanoğlu area of Kyrenia. They have been actively involved in the Liberal Democracy Movement (LDM) since its early stages, initially serving as Secretary for Sports. They currently hold the position of Secretary for Financial Affairs within the movement.

Halef Kurt

Communications Secretary

Born in Nicosia in 2003, he graduated from the Faculty of Business and Economics at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). During his undergraduate studies, he served as the Founding President of the EMU International Relations Club and as a Founding Board Member of the EMU Parliamentary Simulation. He completed research internships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the TRNC and the Foreign Policy Institute of Türkiye. He was selected as a Youth Champion by the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) and has undertaken coordination, moderation, and representation roles in United Nations and European Union projects focusing on youth, peacebuilding, and bi-communal cooperation. In the field of communications, he works as a politics and economics correspondent for Kıbrıs Postası while also serving as a director at Kofalı & Kurt Ltd. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Relations and Political Science at Bahçeşehir Cyprus University.

Toprak Akyüz

Kyrenia Representative

Toprak Akyüz was born in Ankara in 2006 and moved to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at the age of 12. He is currently pursuing his higher education in Digital Marketing and Social Media at Girne American University. Akyüz is also actively involved in the business world, working in the fields of construction, technology, and digital entrepreneurship. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of his family company, Armador Construction Ltd., where he is involved in the company's construction and real estate development activities. He is also the founder and director of RINGOS Technology Ltd., a company based in the United Kingdom. Alongside his business activities, Akyüz is actively engaged in civil society. He serves as the Kyrenia District Representative of the Liberal Democracy Movement (LDM). His work focuses particularly on local government policies in Northern Cyprus, the development of technology-driven enterprises, the expansion of digitalization, and increasing young people's participation in social and economic life.

Nuray Altıoğlu

İskele Representative

Nuray Altıoğlu was born in Famagusta in 2002 and is originally from the Yeni Erenköy area, where she currently resides. She successfully completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). Following her graduation, she completed a Pedagogical Formation Programme at EMU, obtaining her teaching qualification. During her university studies, she worked as a student assistant within her faculty and, alongside her academic work, gained teaching experience by providing mathematics instruction to students of different age groups. Altıoğlu aims to share her knowledge and experience in education with her students and places particular emphasis on teaching mathematics in a clear and engaging way. Currently working as a mathematics teacher, Nuray Altıoğlu continues her efforts to improve her students’ academic achievement and develop their analytical thinking skills.

Davut İnanlar

Famagusta Representative

Davut İnanlar was born in Köşklüçiftlik in 2004. He is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Software Engineering at Eastern Mediterranean University, while also undertaking pedagogical training at the same university. Alongside his studies in software engineering, he is active in technology journalism and media. He previously served as a senior editor and magazine writer at Oyun Günlüğü, a publication within Türkiye’s gaming media industry. He currently continues his editorial work at Tourens, one of the prominent platforms in Türkiye’s gaming media landscape.

Tahir Altınkaya

Secretary for Environment and Animal Rights

Tahir Altınkaya was born in Famagusta in 1997. He graduated from the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus (METU NCC). During his university studies, he participated in various aircraft and helicopter design projects. Currently working as a physics teacher at Near East Yeniboğaziçi College, Altınkaya is involved in initiatives aimed at promoting scientific thinking and supporting the technological development of young people. He served as a team leader at SPOT, the Society for the Protection of Turtles in Northern Cyprus, and gained experience in corporate communications, digital media, and video production. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Liberal Democracy Movement (LDM), Altınkaya focuses on education, youth policies, science, and technology. He places particular importance on developing Northern Cyprus's skilled workforce, expanding young people's access to professional opportunities in their own country, and strengthening local technological capabilities.

Erge Teksamancı

Secretary for Education

Born in Nicosia in 2003, they currently reside in the Yenikent area. They graduated with High Honours from the Department of International Relations within the Faculty of Business and Economics at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). During their undergraduate studies, they served on the Board of Directors of the university's International Relations Club for two years and completed a one-month internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). They currently work part-time as a news editor at Kıbrıs Postası while pursuing a master's degree in International Relations at Eastern Mediterranean University.

Aleyna Aktaş

Secretary for Legal Affairs

Aleyna Aktaş was born in Nicosia in 2003. She successfully completed her undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Law of Eastern Mediterranean University. Following her graduation, she began a legal internship at a law firm, where she continues to develop her professional knowledge and experience. Upon completing her internship, she aims to pursue a career as a lawyer. In 2025, she joined the Liberal Democracy Movement (LDM) as a member of its Board of Directors. She aims to raise awareness of issues such as the rule of law, freedom of expression, and the protection of fundamental rights.

Osman Özdeş

Secretary for Culture and the Arts

Osman Özdeş was born in Istanbul in 2003. He graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Eastern Mediterranean University. Throughout his university education, he developed his theoretical knowledge through technical projects and practical applications. In 2025, he contributed to his team's success in achieving a ranking position at the TEKNOFEST Helicopter Design Competition held in Istanbul. As part of his graduation project, he participated in the development of a power bank based on Qi wireless charging technology, contributing to the analysis of electronic components and the prototyping process. The project received the Best Graduation Project Award. Alongside engineering, Özdeş is actively involved in music, performing regularly as a pianist and participating in various musical events. As one of the founding members of the Liberal Democracy Movement (LDM) in 2023, Özdeş currently serves as Secretary of the Culture and Arts Committee, playing an active role in planning and implementing cultural and artistic activities.

Orhan Alemdar

Secretary for Organization and Social Affairs

Orhan Alemdar was born in 2005 in Köşklüçiftlik, in the Nicosia district of Northern Cyprus. He began his education at Near East College, where he successfully completed his secondary education. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Economics at Eastern Mediterranean University. Orhan Alemdar has gained international recognition through his appointment as a UNFICYP Youth Champion under the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus. He has undertaken coordination, moderation, and representative roles in projects supported by the United Nations and the European Union, focusing on youth engagement, peacebuilding, and bi-communal cooperation. In recognition of his academic achievements, he has received certificates of academic excellence for five semesters at Eastern Mediterranean University.

Eren Aktaş

Secretary for Health

Born in 1995, he graduated from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Near East University in 2018. Following his graduation, he spent approximately seven years working in the private sector in the fields of medical technologies, cardiology, and clinical support. Today, he is active in the healthcare sector as an entrepreneur, providing medical solutions and clinical support services through the company he directs. He continues his active sporting career as a registered football player with the Cyprus Turkish Football Association (KTFF). In the cultural sphere, he is involved in Turkish Cypriot folk dancing, serving as both a dancer and instructor and representing his country at international festivals. He has held active roles in various civil society organizations and youth associations. His areas of interest include economics, politics, entrepreneurship, and social issues.

Hakkı Çinkılıç

Secretary for Political Relations

Hakkı Çinkılıç, born in Famagusta on 2 August 2002, is a young professional active in the fields of international relations, youth policy, and civil society. He completed his master’s degree in International Relations at Eötvös Loránd University with distinction, focusing his academic work on diplomacy, security studies, and public policy. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Eastern Mediterranean University. Çinkılıç has held various leadership positions in youth organizations and civil society organizations, serving as both Vice President and President of the Independent Youth Association. At the Liberal Democracy Movement (LDM), he previously served as Representative for External Relations, contributing to the development of relations with international organizations and foreign political actors. Çinkılıç has participated in public discussions and media programmes on youth policy, meritocracy, brain drain, and democratic participation. In addition to his native Turkish, he speaks English at an advanced level and Russian at a beginner level. Drawing on his leadership experience, analytical approach, and international perspective, he continues his work in the fields of diplomacy, political analysis, and public affairs.

Ödül Çakmak

Secretary for Sports

Born in Nicosia in 2003, Çakmak completed his undergraduate studies in the English Language Teaching Programme at the Faculty of Education of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). During his studies, he participated in the 10th EMU FLEPS Workshop Festival as an assistant and in the First Literature Day as a member of the stage team. He completed his teaching internship at Çanakkale Secondary School. During his student years, Çakmak achieved both team championships and individual successes in table tennis and represented the TRNC Youth National Team. In addition to actively participating in numerous civil society organizations, he also served for a period as a board member of the Cyprus Turkish Student Organization Association. Currently, Çakmak continues his work as Secretary of the Sports Committee of the Liberal Democracy Movement (LDM) and as an English teacher.

Oğuz Ufuk Haksever

Secretary for International and Bi-communal Relations

Born in Famagusta in 1998, Haksever graduated from the Political Science programme at the Faculty of Business and Economics at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU). As a recipient of the European Union (EU) Scholarship Programme for the Turkish Cypriot Community, Haksever completed a master’s degree in International Relations at Leiden University and later earned a PhD in the same field from EMU. Haksever has held various roles in civil society organizations for many years and has worked on projects supported by the EU, the United Nations, and various other international institutions and organizations. Haksever continues to pursue academic research, focusing on populism, post-truth politics, foreign policy, and contemporary Turkish politics.
